Popularizing Internal MedicineBy Jan StettnerThe healthcare industry and the health of the patients are of prime importance for thegovernment of any country. The technology has aided in giving a facelift to this sector and manymajor developments have been made. Though major advancements are made in the internalmedicine sector, it fails to reach a major population.Despite the government and private players making huge investments in research, education ofhealth care professionals and infrastructure development, the minority groups do not get accessto these facilities. Many minority groups and children fall into the uninsured citizens category. So adequate effort has to be done to popularize these facilities. The following criteria have to be met if the benefits have to reach to a greater population• The prevalent insurance schemes must be modified and formulated effectively so that all thepeople get access to the medical facilities. Cancer detection and other diagnostic tests andtreatments must also be covered under the insurance schemes.• The physician to patient ratio has to be always balanced. If the insurance schemes areimplemented effectively, the number of patients taking the treatments will also increasemanifold. This will subsequently increase the physician to patient ratio. So the hospitals have toemploy more doctors to cater to the needs of the growing patients.• For proving better treatment facilities to the patients, the hospitals and doctors have to workhand in hand. Even though the doctors get a steady income while they are with the hospitals, they tend to lose the professional autonomy. So the hospitals have to sort out these issues with thephysicians.• There are some alarming trends in the industry like frauds. Maintaining the health recordselectronically has definitely made the work more convenient. However the possibilities of fraudhave also increased along with it. This has to be addressed immediately.• The medical errors are increasing at a disturbing rate. More organizations which review thequality of treatment must be set up to avoid these problems. The surgeons performing theoperations must also be given specialized training to avoid mishaps.• More steps like the ban of supersized sugary drinks, approval of weight-loss medicines, research on Bariatric surgery etc. must be implemented to avoid obesity and other lifestylediseases. Steps like legalizing medical marijuana which helps in reducing the use of illegalmarijuana must be promoted.Vaccination and health awareness must also be popularized to prevent contagious diseases.
Advancements in the internal medicine will definitely aid the patients and improve the overallhealth care facility provided to them. There are many healthcare providers which offer qualitytreatment to the patients. If you are looking for a perfect clinic in Las Vegas. Visit 1 World Medicine
