  • 3. One of the more usefulpoodle facts is thatPoodles are great pets forpeople with allergiesbecause they do not shedand are hypoallergenic. Inaddition, poodles neverhave a doggy odor.
  • 4. Poodles are one of theoldest breeds andcarvings of dogs thatresemble Poodles can befound on Greek andRoman coins. The breedwas recognized by theAKC in 1890 and by the1960’s, they were themost popular breed inAmerica.

In Germany, theywere used for hunting and aregreat water retrievers, in factthe name Poodle comes fromthe German Pudel which isshort for Pudelhund meaning“splashing dog“.
