PRESS RELEASE ON A CORPORATE ACQUISITION 1 JULY 2015 COMP-AID, PT-KESKUS, SUOMEN PROTEESIPALVELU AND REHAMED MERGE TO BECOME A LEADING OPERATOR IN THE ASSISTIVE DEVICE SECTOR IN FINLAND The new CompAid Group will operate as a strong service provider for customers and stakeholders. The companies being merged have a largely shared customer base, and their ranges of assistive devices and health care supplies complement each other perfectly. The personnel in each company also have competencies and experience complementary to each other, which provides the personnel with opportunities to learn new skills and develop on their careers. As part of the rearrangement, CompAid Group, consisting of the current Comp-Aid and PT-Keskus, will acquire Suomen Proteesipalvelu Oy and Rehamed Oy. The parent company of the new group will be CompAid Group Oy, and PT-Keskus Oy, Comp-Aid Oy, Suomen Proteesipalvelu Oy and Rehamed Oy will continue to operate as its independent subsidiaries. Mika Paavola, CEO of CompAid Group, has also been appointed as CEO of Rehamed Oy and Antti Airasmaa, former CEO and owner of Rehamed Oy, will continue as adviser to the group. Marco Storti has been appointed as CEO of Suomen Proteesipalvelu Oy. Pekka Paasivaara, the previous CEO of Suomen Proteesipalvelu Oy, will continue in the service of the company as member of the board of directors. In addition to Petteri Mäki, the newly formed group will be principally owned also by Sponsor Capital. The corporate acquisition will not affect the current customerships, vendors or staffs of the companies. “With this arrangement, we also aim to significantly strengthen our organisation throughout Finland. We will invest in high-quality customer service and expansion of operations. Our vision is national growth by means of provision of robust competence in assistive devices, health care supplies, and prostheses at a local level. Our strong vision and desire to develop novel customer service concepts, and valuation of the competencies and contribution of our personnel give us a strong foundation for continuous growth,” says Petteri Mäki. “The new entity has extensive competence in assistive devices, health care supplies and hospital equipment. The company is in excellent positions to meet the needs of our customers in every stage of the care chain,” says Antti Airasmaa, former owner of Rehamed Oy. “The new entity has excellent starting points to meet the hardening challenges of the market and to deepen our co-operation with our customers with a more comprehensive approach. It will also ensure the future of the companies involved in the more and more integrated assistive device sector,” say Pekka Paasivaara, Harri Oikarinen, Peter Kaske, Karl Lindfors, Tarvo Ranta and Marco Storti, the former owners of Suomen Proteesipalvelu Oy. “From the customer’s perspective, the added value the new group offers finds concrete forms in optimal assistive device solutions, ease of doing business, and local presence. The assistive device business continues to develop rapidly and the need for expertise is increasing.
