Transcripts - Polygons #2
Polygons What are they?
Polygons

There are both irregular and regular polygons

Polygons are shapes with a face, three or more sides and is a closed figure

There are also polygons called convex and concave

Polygons come in many different shapes

Although shapes that are round like a circle (or shapes that do not have all straight lines) are not polygons

Regular Polygons

Regular polygons have equal sides and angles all the way around

Regular Triangle Irregular Polygons

Irregular polygons have unequal sides although some irregular polygons have equal angles

Irregular Heptagon Rectangle (irregular)
Triangle Pentagon Hexagon Heptagon Octagon Nonagon Decagon Undecagon Dodecagon Tridecagon Tetradecagon Pentadecagon Trapezoid Right Triangle Parallelogram Rectangle Regular Polygons Irregular Polygons s = sides 3 s 5 s 6 s 7 s 8 s 9 s 10 s 11 s 12 s 13 s 14 s 15 s 4 s 3 s 4 s 4 s
Concave Polygon

Convex polygons are shapes that curve out of a usual shape (or just does not have a dent in it)

Concave polygons are shapes that curve inward (if you can draw a straight line from inside one part of the shape going out of the shape then inside again to the other side, it is concave)

Convex Polygon 1- regular triangle 2- irregular hexagon
