A Promise of Wealth, Business and Health at The University of Memphis
MEMPHIS, TENN—The Fogelman College of Business and Economics (FCBE) at the
University of Memphis is hosting its annual Promise Day on campus to encourage students to
become successful in their future careers, education and lifestyle choices. The event will take
place tomorrow from 10:30 a.m. -- 2:00 p.m. This year’s theme is Wealth. Business. Health.
Promise Day will include student-centric activities that showcase the positive benefits of
maintaining emotional, fiscal, mental, physical and social health. We will also have a rock wall,
an inflatable bounce house, live entertainment and complimentary healthy meals.
“With today’s focus on the Affordable Care Act, a culture of health is becoming increasingly
important for Human Resource professionals,” said Dr. Kathy Tuberville, director of the Avron
B. Fogelman Professional Development Center. “Memphis has an increasing number of
supportive employers and leaders who are committed to redesigning the community environment
with a focus on healthy living standards. A culture of health is growing in the Memphis
community and FCBE is taking initiative to introduce a successful and healthy lifestyle to its
Promise Day is a celebration of the Complete Professional Program and its purpose to help
business majors succeed in business and life. FCBE students, faculty and staff are encouraged to
make a commitment to do their best in all they undertake, to make positive contributions to the
community and to strive to achieve their full potential in their personal and professional lives.
