  • 1. Municipality of Nafpa ktia consists of the former Municipalities of Apodotia, Nafpaktos, Platanos, Pilini, Antirio and Chalkia. Nafpaktia invites you to discover it and be fascinated! From the most beautiful beaches to the most fantastic mountain tops you will experience the beauty of the place and see the unique combination of a modern city and a traditional village.
  • 2. The castle is at the top of a hill that overlooks the city. This hill has the shape of a pyramid. The castle was built from the ancient years but the Venetians made it as we can see it today. It’s one of the most important and best examples of castles’ architecture in Greece . We cannot say with certainty what was the form of the castle in ancient times, but it is certain that the walls existed. Remains of ancient walls are still found today on the sea side as well as the western side of the castle.
  • 3. The small, medieval port has the shape of a horseshoe with an opening of 35 meters. Left and right to the entrance there are two towers. The port was an important transportation and commercial centre that gave life to the city. Transportation to Achaia, Psathopyrgos and Patras was made by small boats. Also there was transportation with small boats from Nafpaktos to Patra and from there to Kryoneri.

It is very tall and impressive and you can see it from a lot of places around town . If you go up the clock you can have a great view of the town of Nafpaktos and the Corinthian Gulf. Its building started in 1914 and the clock was restored in 1991.
