Popular since the 18th century, apfelstrudel includes many thin layers and is served warm. 2. Spatzle: Spatzle is a noodle dish made from wheat flour and eggs and is often served with cheese (called kasepatzle) and roasted onions.

Schnitzel: A simple but tasty dish, the schnitzel is a thin, boneless piece of meat coated in breadcrumbs. There are many variations, including the Hamburg-style schnitzel, which comes adorned with a fried egg.
