Solutions<br />Make pond owners aware of the necessity to maintain their ponds<br />Conduct regular inspections of ponds and contact owners not in compliance with regulations<br />Take regulatory enforcement actions, if necessary <br />Partner with local businesses to foster awareness of and compliance with regulations<br />
  • 5. Regulatory Requirements<br />If the pond is required to have a fence around it, make sure it is locked and in good condition<br />Keep vegetation in and around the pond well groomed and under control; there should be no tall weeds, bushes, or trees in the pond or on its banks<br />Make sure inlet and outlet structures flow freely and are kept clear of debris<br />Keep the pond free of trash and debris<br />Ensure that the pond banks, berms, and dams are structurally sound and intact<br />
