Activities <ul><li>B-O-N-E-S the song (sing the song) </li></ul><ul><li>Have students bend their knees and elbows (explain joints) </li></ul><ul><li>Ask the students to gather around the skeleton labeled with the anatomical names on it. Review the name of the bones by playing Simon says. Divide the class in two groups, each team has to have a basket filled with the name of the bones, each person in the team has to take turns and pull out one bone name and placed it on the skeleton in the correct spot, they have to go the skeleton by practicing any aerobic exercise (running, jumping, hopping, etc). When students are waiting their turn encourage them to study Mr. Bones. When they finish walk quietly and do the necessary corrections. </li></ul>

Activities <ul><li>Have two students practicing with the rope and the rest of the group will jump keeping the rhyme, students who are waiting for a turn ask them to create movements to accompany the rhyme. </li></ul><ul><li>My skull is a helmet that covers my brain </li></ul><ul><li>And keeps it safe from blows and pain </li></ul><ul><li>I can’t see my backbone because it’s behind </li></ul><ul><li>My bones help me move and jump and run </li></ul><ul><li>All my bones together are my skeleton! </li></ul><ul><li>2.Organize groups to develop a physical activity use techniques such as Simon Says and ask the students to do 10 jumping jacks and hop for 10 seconds. The idea is that students can have fun by playing Simon Says. </li></ul><ul><li>3. Have students form a large circle, pick a student for the middle, students on the outside of the circle mirror the dance leader, play different types of music and have students take turns to be a leader. </li></ul><ul><li>4. Freeze, one student will have music and the rest will walk, run, march, etc; when the student stops the music, students have to stop, this can continue for ten minutes. </li></ul><ul><li>Later, using poster show some of the safe rules that can be incorporated into the practice and in small group’s peers will work on creating safe rules for exercise. </li></ul>

Assessment <ul><li>Students will be evaluated individually by asking questions of the benefits of exercise and how this will benefit different parts of the skeleton, students will make a chart with the group of exercises they can practice every day. (See chart attached.) </li></ul><ul><li>Students will keep a personal journal of their physical activity. </li></ul>
