IO-Link masters of the latest generation.

At this year's HMI ifm electronic presented consistent and powerful solutions for the communication of sensors with PLCs. Using the standardised IO-Link interface the last metre from the sensor or actuator to the I/O module is efficiently bridged. This allows to load parameters from the controller to the sensor via the fieldbus without problem.

Essen, May 2013 – At this year's HMI ifm electronic presented consistent and powerful solutions for the communication of sensors with PLCs. Using the standardised IO-Link interface the last metre from the sensor or actuator to the I/O module is efficiently bridged. This allows to load parameters from the controller to the sensor via the fieldbus without problem. With IO-Link the user has a tool for the bidirectional transmission of cyclic and acyclic data as well as messages. On the basis of the wide range of IO-Link sensors - from pressure, temperature, flow to capacitive and photoelectric sensors - the company presented new IO-Link masters for system integration into Profibus-DP and AS-Interface. Depending on the preferred fieldbus selected sensors can be easily integrated. The Profibus IO-Link gateway allows direct software access in the hardware manager to all sensor functions by means of the provided GSG file. This can be switch point and parameter settings. The AS-i IO-Link module provides connection to the other Ethernet-based fieldbuses via the ifm AS-i gateway or software integration into CoDeSys.
