  • 1. November 4, 2015 Muscogee (Creek) Nation Scholarship Foundation Program Announces Scholarships Muscogee (Creek) Nation Scholarship Foundation Program sets spring scholarship deadline. OKMULGEE, OK – The Muscogee (Creek) Nation Scholarship Foundation Program announces its deadline of December 1, 2015 for the following spring semester scholarships; the George & Mollie (Jones) Hicks Memorial Scholarship of $500.00 created for a Creek student to further his/her education at an institution of higher education; the Susan Colleen Wilson Memorial Scholarship of $500.00 created as a memorial to a special person and mother; the Alfred Berryhill Scholarship of $1,000.00 created for a Creek student interested in the Creek culture; the Bill S. Fife Scholarship of $1,000.00 created for two Creek students interested in tribal government; the Claude Cox Scholarship of $1,000.00 created for a Creek student interested in tribal government; the Corporal Joe Halley Scholarship of $1,000.00 created for two Creek students, a veteran and a student majoring in a business field; the Health Systems Scholarship of $1,000.00 created for a Creek student majoring in a health systems field; the Fighting Cancer for Kat Scholarship of $500.00 created for a Creek student that is a cancer survivor or had a parent diagnosed with cancer; the Foster Care Scholarship of $500.00 created for a Creek student who suffered the loss of a parent before turning the age of 18 or experienced an out of home placement six months after the age of 13; the George & Frances Tiger Scholarship of $1,000.00 created for a Creek student who is currently enrolled and attending an institution of higher education; the Henry Marsey Harjo Scholarship of $500.00 created for a Creek student interested in the welfare of the Creek people; the Scholarship Foundation Program Freshman Scholarship of $1,000.00 created for a Creek freshman student attending an institution of higher education; the Jackson Narcomey Scholarship of $500.00 created for a Creek student majoring in art or a related field; the Kenneth Sourjohn, Sr. Scholarship of $500.00 created for a Creek student in his/her persistent and purpose driven journey; the Kevin “Babe” Aaron Scholarship of $500.00 created for a Creek student in honor of Kevin “Babe” Aaron; the Naomi & Lois Harjo Scholarship of $500.00 created for a Creek student studying the fine arts; the Office of the Second Chief Armed Forces Scholarship of $1,000.00 created for a female Creek veteran and a male Creek veteran or their Creek descendants; the R. Perry Beaver Scholarship of $1,000.00 created for a Creek student interested in tribal government; the Reuben & Fannie Mae (Cook) Turner Scholarship of $1,000 created for a Creek student pursuing medicine as his/her field of study; and the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma Scholarship of $500.00 created for a first-time entering Creek student interested in the fine arts. The Scholarship Foundation Program will also present continuing scholarships to fall recipients from the Eufaula Boarding School Scholarship created for recent high school Creek graduates who resided in the Eufaula Dormitory and the ECKE’ MVNOKECKV Ridge/Giles Scholarship for Single Mothers.
