  • 2. WHAT IS THE NOISE POLLUTION ? <ul><li>The noise pollution is called excess noise sound that disrupts normal environmental conditions in a given area. While the noise does not accumulate, moved or maintained over time as the other pollutants, can also cause extensive damage to the quality of life of people if not handled properly. </li></ul><ul><li>The term noise refers to noise that has negative effects on hearing health, physical and mental health of people. </li></ul>
  • 3. <ul><li>This term is closely related to noise because this is where the noise is considered a pollutant, ie annoying sound that can produce physiological and psychological harm to a person or group of people. The main causes of noise pollution are those related to human activities such as transportation, building construction and public works, industries, among others. It has been said by international organizations, we run the risk of a significant decline in hearing ability and the possibility of disturbances ranging from the psychological to the physiological by excessive exposure to noise pollution. </li></ul>
  • 4. <ul><li>A report by the World Health Organization (WHO) considers the 50 dB (a), as the desirable upper limit. </li></ul><ul><li>In Spain, set to acoustic comfort level of 55 dBa. Above this level, the sound is pernicious for relaxation and communication. </li></ul><ul><li>According to studies by the European Union (2005): 80 million people are exposed daily to noise levels above 65 dBA and 170 million, are at levels between 55-65 dBA. </li></ul>
