  • 1. For nearly a decade, Doug and Nancy Wood with Coldwell Banker Residential Real Estate in Tampa, Florida have been delivering top- notch service to the greater Tampa Bay area. They are Coldwell Banker Previews Agents as well as A-Team agents who handle luxury and corporate and relocation business with the utmost care. Their vibrant team of top producers offers a broad spectrum of expertise and together they have earned a spot in the top 100 agents in Florida for Coldwell Banker. Doug and Nancy moved to Tampa in 2003, with their 3-year-old son, Jack. “I was transferred to Tampa from Atlanta and after the move, we decided that we would love to work together, raise our son, and build a life here rather than shuttling between the two cities,” explains Doug. “Real estate seemed like a great fit,” adds Nancy. “Everyone needs a home and it is a very rewarding life work to be able to help others with their needs and dreams.” The two were licensed in 2005 and built the business from the ground up; building their knowledge of the area, learning the neighborhoods, and establishing their foundation in their community of Westchase and growing to the Greater Tampa Bay area. Their skill sets complement each other well. “Doug is the quiet analytical one, while I’m more extroverted and sociable” says Nancy. “He does a lot of our systems work, while I am on the marketing and business development side of things.” Working with a spouse can be complicated, but Doug and Nancy have developed a great balance between them, evidenced in their tagline: “The Art and Science of Florida Real Estate.” Today they have one of the most recognized and respected REALTOR® teams in the Greater Tampa Bay region. From these beginnings, the couple has grown their team organically adding both seasoned agents and fresh faces to provide comprehensive service to their ever-growing client base. Their easy rapport with their clients has resulted in a number of friendships and even business partnerships. “Some of our team members were actually our clients first,” says Nancy. “We recognized their wonderful abilities and talents and encouraged them to obtain their real estate license and join our team.” The Woods foster a friendly, collaborative spirit with their clients and colleagues that has garnered the respect of other real estate professionals who know that working with the Wood Team will lead to a seamless transaction. “Each of our team members shares our work ethic,” says Doug. “We are committed to providing great service with great communication. We answer our phones, respond to our clients quickly, and work hard to stay on top of market trends.” Their work has resulted in over 75% of their business coming from referrals. The team as a whole also covers a wide geographic area. “We view ourselves as ambassadors of the Greater Tampa Bay area,” explains Doug, “we know all of the local areas from planned communities Copyright Top Agent Magazine like Westchase, East Lake Woodlands and Seven Oaks, to waterfront neigh- borhoods like Dana Shores, Davis Island, and Belleair Beach; city neighborhoods like South Tampa’s Hyde Park and Beach Park, and small eclectic towns like Dunedin and Crystal Beach. We love to sell our beaches, too! World-renowned St. Pete Beach, Treasure Island, and Clearwater Beach are all right in our backyard. Each of us has a particular expertise that allows us to reach a broad base of clients.” In a dynamic market like Tampa Bay’s this breadth of knowledge is particularly helpful. The climate and the variety of properties from second and vacation homes to condos, and homes for first-time homebuyers, there is never a slow moment here. In order to serve their clients more effectively across all of the Greater Tampa Bay region, from South Tampa to the northern suburbs, the Wood Team is opening a second office that is centrally located in Northwest Hillsborough county’s neighborhood, Westchase, to offer more convenient service to the north and west of Tampa. From there, their agents will be able to meet with clients in Westchase area and from Odessa, Trinity, Oldsmar with ease. “As our team is able to serve more and more homeowners and homeowners-to-be, this office is a step in keeping up with that demand,” says Doug. “The new office is a comfortable and inviting space where our agents can meet with clients conveniently and have access to all the tools they need,” adds Nancy. As a relatively new group, this team has already made major strides in their development. They have taken advantage of Coldwell Banker’s many marketing and technological tools to build a strong business with its roots firmly in the local community. “We try to give back to the community often, and strongly believe in participating and especially like to support causes that are personally important to us and we can share as a family-like the health and well-being of children and their families,” says Nancy. “We participate and/or sponsor community events with the YMCA, Boy Scouts, our Church, our company’s charitable organization, Coldwell Banker Cares and the Westchase Charitable Foundation, which helps support local families in times of need. Our preference is to lead by example, letting actions speak louder than words. We want to give our son a good example, too.” As the team continues to grow and expand into new territory, Nancy and Doug are careful to keep this local connection. They never lose focus of their clients’ needs and always keep them at the heart of their business.
