Sensitivity Analysis and Optimization of Monolith Channels National University of Singapore, Singapore May 2013 – July 2013 • Developed a reduced 3-D model for the flow of gases through a square monolith using Comsol Multiphysics. • Established the optimal design for the reactor from the sensitivity analysis of the Monolithic reactor by varying different sets of parameters. Development of Optimal Control Algorithms for Benchmark Problems in Industrial and Lab Scale Control Indian Institute of Technology Madras May 2012 – July 2012 • Presented a detailed description of the process description and control strategies of the benchmark problems in Industrial and lab Scale Control • Ascertained the best control strategy for sample benchmark problems in literature using simulations in Simulink. Flow Characterization, Mathematical Modeling and Estimation of Bubble Frequency Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore May 2012 – July 2012 • Validated the experimental results of bubble frequency and flow rate through vertical orifices computationally using matlab. • Developed a Mathematical model for the bubble frequency of the slugging cycle for flow through horizontal orifices. ACADEMIC PROJECTS Global Supply Chain Optimization of Pharmaceutical Industries Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh August 2014 – November 2014 • Developed a supply chain model for a pharmaceutical company and formulated the optimization problem on GAMS to maximize profit. • Reduced the computational time for solving by implementing a temporal decomposition algorithm to solve the optimization problem. Optimization of an Alkylation process by constrained Nonlinear Programming Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh August 2014 – November 2014 • Developed a model for optimizing an alkylation process to maximize profit subject to the physical laws governing the behavior of the process. • Estimated the optimum process parameters by formulating and solving the problem as a Nonlinear programming model in Matlab. Design of Equipment for Optimal Production of Ammonia National Institute of Technology, Trichy January 2014 – May 2014 • Designed the equipment for the optimal production of ammonia and developed the Process Flow Diagram for a specified amount of feedstock. • Developed the P&ID diagram and estimated the efficiency of production for the flowsheet developed.
