NASSCOM Fridays 2.0 13th March 2009 - 45th session

As you are aware, running a successful product company in India, is quite different from other software application models. To begin with, the market itself is not matured, which makes funding a nightmarish experience. Convincing an angel investor to back the idea is really very difficult. Also, prospective employees would rather work for global "brands" than for a brilliant idea which is still at a very nascent period. Retention of manpower becomes an issue and few companies really have the luxury of "bench strength". Considering the fact, that the gestation period is long for such a business model, running such an operation successfully, is truly the ultimate test of leadership.
