  • 1. NATASHA HOUSE IMPACT THE BRIDGE THANK YOU for ALL OF YOUR SUPPORT! -FromtheENTIRENATASHAHouseFamily Our residents may reside with us up to two years. The average stay for those who succeed in the Program is 8-10 months. Since opening Labor Day of 2010 we’ve housed 57 women with 93 children, four of which were Veterans. Since our HomeMakers Program launched in 2009, we have graduated 5 women Our ladies have become or are in training to be accountants, pharmacy techs, personal care aides, data entry techs, teachers, medical billing & coding specialists, early child– hood educators, medical receptionists, corrections officers, cosmetologists, project managers, certified nursing assistants, culinary arts specialists, and retail sales associates, & cashiers. Nicole Meet Resident of the NATASHA House Hello, I am a single mother with two children, who before coming to NATASHA House, was in my own apartment working, bringing home a decent paycheck, and doing pretty good for my family and myself. Then February 2012 the unexpected happened, I lost my job and things took an unfortunate turn. For 6 mos., I struggled to get back on my feet and provide the security and stability that my children needed. Determined to overcome the setbacks and recover all we had lost, I enrolled in Riverside’s nursing assistant program but I continued to struggle with securing housing. Then a close friend told me about NATASHA House. I called, applied, interviewed, was admitted, and my family’s journey “to wholeness” began. When I move in to NATASHA House, I had no job, no joy, and very little hope; but since I arrived and settled in, I’ve completed the Riverside Nursing Assistant program and preparing to complete my CNA certification, I am gainfully employed as a Nurse’s assistant, I completed Medication Aid Certification Training, and I am currently enrolled in TNCC’s Workforce Investment Act (WIA) Pharmacy Technician Program with a scheduled graduation/completion date of May 2016. What NATASHA House has given me is a new outlook on life. The HomeMakers Program has provided my children and I with a safe home; has met my family’s emotional and physical needs; has empowered me with the tenacity and commitment to continue to move forward regardless of what obstacles we face; has given me and my children the confidence, courage, and tough love to hope, keep the faith, and most importantly to be an encouragement to someone else. The How behind NATASHA House, Inc. and its mission is the founder Pastor Deloris Borum, its Board of Directors, its Executive Director, Mrs. Brown, its staff, and its community partners and how they selflessly serve so many women and children. And how the community through their miraculous financial support helps to ensure that the NATASHA House legacy will continue and will grow. And finally, how those like me, who benefited from NATASHA House’s programs and/or services, proudly say by paying it forward and getting the word out, “I am a family to whom NATASHA House became a bridge to wholeness!” NATASHA House is a transitional home for homeless women and children that empowers and equips them to achieve and maintain self-sufficiency.
