  • 1. Nate Hartman | nbhartman@gmail.com | (419) 217-0254 Face off photo manipulation In wanting to create a unique profile pic for my facebook page, I went with a face swap approch. I used my skills with Photoshop to place my face over a still from Rambo (2008). My goal was to have the viewer take a second look, and realize that it was not really me.
  • 2. Nate Hartman | nbhartman@gmail.com | (419) 217-0254 Wall Panel for Exhibit Install at Imagination Station, Toledo This piece is in a permanent install for the Eat It Up exhibit at the Imagination Station in Toledo, Ohio. It explains the costs of bad eating habits in a fun modern design. It was made in collabration with Vanessa Snyder, Creative Director and Kathy Poddany, Graphic Designer, in collaboration with brand standards.
  • 3. Nate Hartman | nbhartman@gmail.com | (419) 217-0254 digital illustrations These are two concept pieces that I illustrated in Photoshop. The one on the left is a concept for a childrens book, and the one on the right is a idea I came up with for a future comic book.
  • 4. Nate Hartman | nbhartman@gmail.com | (419) 217-0254 play on event poster This design was for a theatrical production at Owens Community College. It includes custom illustration, and clean typography with Avenir. I enjoy the subliminals of the gender bending and the love triangle that are reflections of the play. It is one of my favorites even though it was not selected for publication for the play.
  • 5. Nate Hartman | nbhartman@gmail.com | (419) 217-0254 city trends realty This was a mock up idea for a rebranding of a Real Estate Company. I used the dynamic shape of the local skyline and subtle color palette to emphasize the connection of trending elements in the company’s moto.
  • 6. Nate Hartman | nbhartman@gmail.com | (419) 217-0254 science festival Package (general banners) I created a new look for the Imagination Station’s educational outreach program, Science Festivals, including custom original illustration, color pallet, and typography layout. This package consisted of 48 table signs and two general supporting banners. These banners were designed to be used for multiple applications.
  • 7. Nate Hartman | nbhartman@gmail.com | (419) 217-0254 science festival Package (d.s. table signs) I created a new look for the Imagination Station’s educational outreach program, Science Festivals, including custom original illustration, color pallet, and typography layout. This package consisted of 48 table signs and two general supporting banners. Each table sign is an individual project station where educators can assist students in learning about science, technology, engineering, and mathmatics.
  • 8. Nate Hartman | nbhartman@gmail.com | (419) 217-0254 photo collage self-exploration This piece was a journey with Photoshop blending modes. My inspiration came from my love of skateboarding and space. The goal was to create a dynamic image representing the euphoric state that you get into while skating.
  • 9. Nate Hartman | nbhartman@gmail.com | (419) 217-0254 resource banners part 1 (Nonrenewable) These banners were a part of a Science Festival Package that I designed in collaboration with brand standards during my internship at the Imagination Station. They were designed to be high impact so that children could easily find them during a treasure hunt activity.
  • 10. Nate Hartman | nbhartman@gmail.com | (419) 217-0254 Resource banners part 2 (renewable) These banners were a part of a Science Festival Package that I designed in collaboration with brand standards during my internship at the Imagination Station. They were designed to be high impact so that children could easily find them during a treasure hunt activity.
  • 11. Nate Hartman | nbhartman@gmail.com | (419) 217-0254 toms of thunder, workshop event poster Another of my hobbies is playing the drums and making music. This poster is a concept idea for which I took a realistic approch to the drum illustration using Illustrator. Then, to balance it out, I used a san serif font which I feel strengthens the energetic tone of a drum and percussion workshop.
  • 12. Nate Hartman | nbhartman@gmail.com | (419) 217-0254 Traditional illustrations Here are two traditional graphite illustration studies of mine. The figure study was done during a live session, and the one on the right is a self-portrait referenced from a photo.
  • 13. Nate Hartman | nbhartman@gmail.com | (419) 217-0254 ouch bandages package design Ouch Bandages is a concept design for bandage packaging. My inspiration came from the lack of good package design in the first aid isle at the local drug store. I went for a modern, high impact look during the creative process and strong contrast to pull in the shopper. The logo was my favorite part of the design process. The “O” of Ouch represents the bandage, and the “uch” represents the wound.
  • 14. Nate Hartman | nbhartman@gmail.com | (419) 217-0254 abstract font based design This project was an exploration with typography where the research paper was woven into the abstract design. I wanted to explore using typography to create texture and contrast. This piece won second place in the 2014 Owens Student Art Show.
