  • 1. Hi. I’m Nathan. I’m pleased to meet you. I am an experienced Graphic Designer with creative flair, innovation and an eye for detail. My excellent communication, people management and time management skills mean that I am able to discern and meet my clients' needs, and work with them to achieve desired outcomes, all within required time frames. I enjoy working to create ideas and designs that are fresh and innovative, and trying to come up with concepts that are original and creative. I have an enthusiastic, motivated, positive and friendly attitude in my work. Throughout my career I have had extensive print design experience and can see a job through to finished artwork and beyond. I am a reliable, diligent worker. I work well individually and in a team. My strengths include a responsible and highly motivated attitude, managing large workloads, meeting tight deadlines, time management and organisation and good communication - all while maintaining my positive, friendly attitude sense of humour. I have over 17 years experience within the advertising and design industries. I specialise in print design, and have worked extensively with Adobe Creative Suite software, Macromedia Freehand MX, and Quark. I have a very good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Powerpoint. I am presently employed at Below the Line (BTL) where I work as a Senior Designer and in a Office Manager/Traffic manager role. This involves working to create stunning designs, but also overseeing several junior designers, assisting them with technical elements of print preparation and software use, as well as design and general operations. The secondary part to my role involves ensuring jobs are undertaken within set timeframes and are managed well, as well as taking briefs from Account Service personnel and keeping track of projects from their inception through to completion. Prior to my latest position, I have spent 7 years working at Fresco, a medium sized advertising design agency in Wellington, where I began work as a junior designer and worked my way into a intermediate role. I worked regularly in taking briefs through concept to final artwork stages and print, often entailing regular interaction with suppliers, printers and clients, and ensuring that the final result was always to the highest quality. Within this time I worked frequently on editorial and layup work, frequently designing statements and annual reports alongside information booklets, as well as many advertising campaigns and branding work. Following this, I spent 4 years working as the in-house designer for a large church in Wellington (www.thestreet.org.nz), assisting with promotion and branding work for numerous events, conferences and ministries. During this time I also worked successfully operating my own part-time small business, building up a solid client base through word of mouth referrals, and at this time I undertook some work on book design for publication. Following time spent overseas in France, I worked as a freelancer until I took on my present role. Please find enclosed in this PDF my CV (including referees' contact details). My portfolio can be found online at http://www.n8creative.co.nz I am available to be contacted at my email address (n8@n8creative.co.nz) or on my mobile 022 041 4761.
