Transcripts - Nationwide Vehicle Contracts - Van Info FAQs

  • 1. Van leasing information & FAQs By Nationwidevehiclecontracts.co.uk
  • 2. Do we provide van leasing contracts for both personal and business customers? Yes, although business leasing is much more common for vans and some finance companies will not offer personal agreements on vans.
  • 3. Am I eligible for van leasing finance? As part of your leasing application, you will be asked to fill out our online Business Finance Application Form. We’ll ask you for details about yourself and your company, which will then be used by the relevant finance company to determine whether you are eligible for finance or not.
  • 4. Do you provide van leasing for people with bad credit? Most funders ask for good to excellent credit scores. In the case that you have been denied finance before or your company is less than a year old then we may ask for further information.
  • 5. What are the different types of contracts available? • Finance lease • Contract hire • Contract purchase • Business lease purchase
  • 6. How long is the lease period? Van contracts are typically from two to four years. Sometimes five year agreements are available. Do you provide short term agreements? At Nationwide Vehicle Contracts we specialise in long term contracts; the shortest agreement we offer is 24 months.
  • 7. Do you provide ‘no deposit’ van leases? No. We do not provide no deposit lease contracts for vans. What vans are available to lease? To name a few; Citroen, Ford, Volkswagen and Renault. We have a huge range of vans at excellent prices.
  • 8. How much annual company vehicle tax will be due on my leased van? Unlike cars, where the benefit in kind tax is variable depending on the price of the vehicle, company van tax is fixed. For the 2015-2016 tax year, the taxable benefit for vans is £3,150 per year, while the fuel benefit is £594 per year, making a total of £3,744. If you're in the 20% tax bracket, you'll pay £749 per year. If you're in the 40% tax bracket, you'll pay £1,498 per year. Please note that these figures will rise by the RPI (Retail Price Index) from April 2016 (TBC).
  • 9. Will you take my current van as a part exchange? Unfortunately, we do not offer a part exchange service Do you provide contracts for couriers? We do provide contracts for couriers, although our options are limited as to the types of vehicle we can quote for.
  • 10. Do I have to have ply lining? Ply lining must be fitted to all leased vans. This is to help protect you from any de-hire damage charges. Can I put my company decals on my van? Of course you can. All we ask is that at the end of the term you remove these before the vehicle is returned.
  • 11. Do you provide roof racks and racking? Absolutely! We will be happy to quote your vehicle and include your relevant accessories. Is tax and insurance included in you van contracts? Your van leasing agreement will include tax depending on your contract but insurance is not included in the leasing contract.
  • 12. Is maintenance included in your agreements? Maintenance is an optional package that can be added to your agreement and included in your monthly payments. Do you provide breakdown cover with a replacement van? Many of the van manufacturers provide a roadside service running alongside the vehicle warranty.
  • 13. Will my van be covered by a manufacturers warranty? Yes. All vans leased through us are covered by the full manufacturer’s warranty. When will my new van be delivered? Where possible, we try to ‘ring-fence stock’ to ensure you don’t have too long to wait for the van you choose. Stock vans, subject to completion of the correct paperwork and manufacturer availability, can be delivered within 14 working days.
  • 14. I do a lot of mileage - do I need a tachograph fitted? Unless your vehicle has a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) of over 3.5 tonnes, no tachograph is required. Can I change my mileage during the contract? Yes you can. However, you do need to have a minimum of at least 6 months left on your contract.
  • 15. What if I exceed the agreed mileage on the contract? Any mileage over the contract is charged at the excess mileage rate, charged in pence per mile. Can I end my agreement early? It is possible to end your agreement early, but you will be liable to pay a penalty charge. The amount this is will depend on how long you’ve got left on your contract and the finance provider.
  • 16. Can I buy my van at the end of a finance agreement? With the funders we use, purchasing the vehicle at the end of a finance lease agreement is not an option. I have heard that you charge for even a small dent- is this true? If you are returning your van to the finance company at the end of your lease, it will be inspected for damage in accordance to guides as set by the BVRLA. If you return your van and it has any damage that falls outside of these guidelines, you will be liable to pay for it in the form of lease-end penalty charges.
