Transcripts - Nat's Pitch

 • 1. Diabolical Dispatch Music Video
By Natalie Palmer
• 2. Basic Plan
There is a girl(Lexi) and a boy(Rorie) who are a couple and they have a massive argument. They are no longer going out and Lexithinks that no-one else in the world cares but she later finds out
that there are people there for her and that people care, this is shown by the fact that she has a really good friend, Bam.
• 3. Target Audience
People that like ‘sum 41’, ‘good charlotte’ and music that isn’t too depressing and heavy.

The video would appeal more to teenage girls as the character, whom the emotion revolves round, is a girl around the age of 15.
 • 4. The main target audience for my music video is people who stereotype 'out of the ordinary' people, these would be the people we plan to display our message, everyone can be happy &different, too.

Aim Of The Video
To break the stereotypes, many people believe that all groups of people such as ‘emo's’, ‘goths’ and ‘punks’ are all sad people and don’t know how to have fun, we aim to break this stereotype.
• 5. This video is based in the genre of punk music. Where the music is upbeat whilst being a little down hearted.
Genre – Alternative Music
This links to the Cognitive Dissonance theory because our video would be the evidence needed to persuade people to change their views about this genre of music.
• 6. Leon Festinger - The 'cognitive dissonance' theory.
The meaning, to have an negative or inconsistent feelings between two things or ideas that contradict each other simultaneously.
Leon Festinger claimed that people rarely change theory attitudes about something unless they are faced with overwhelming evidence against their view point. This theory suggests that people seek out confirmation of their view points.
‘Pluralism audience theory'.
states that different audiences' have different views about the same thing.
Theory
• 7. Audience Theories - Reception Theory
This theory suggests that each different person would interpret the texts in different ways depending on their upbringing
It links into our music video because people have been bought up to believe that 'out of the ordinary' people are always sad or depressive, therefore they would interpret anything produce by them to be sad or unhappy.
• 8. CD cover
Front showing the band having fun, doing a lot. And in colour picture.
Back cover showing the band being all serious. Black and white
picture.
