Adapt the port equipments and resources to the rapid growth in the size of ships and the continuous demand for new features on security, prevention and the environment. 3. Improve the intermodality and co-modality to allow higher speediness in the handling and distribution of goods, adapting in each case to the different types of charges and their standards. 4. Enable new logistics services that can provide added value in ports, changing from a approximation purely intermodal a model more advanced, based on the figure of the port as logistical collaborative node 5. Develop models of Short Sea Shipping and Ferroportuaries, under the umbrella of the co-modality, as a means of achieving a sustainable transport system in Europe. 6. SKEMA es un proyecto del tipo Acción Concertada financiado por la Comisión Europea- DG-TREN bajo el paraguas del VII Programa Marco. Su objetivo es establecer una Plataforma de gestión de conocimiento sostenible para el uso de todos los actores de la Industria del Transporte Marítimo y la Logística Portuaria. MARNIS VI PM Maritime Navigation and Information Services MarNIS es un Proyecto de Investigación Integrada en el VI Programa Marco, que ha servido para poner las bases de los futuros Sistemas y Servicios de Información en la Navegación Maritima Europeos. COMODALWEB 2.0 PLAN NACIONAL 2008-2011 Desarrollo de la Comodalidad y la logística colaborativa a través de la WEB 2.0, para el fomento del Short Sea Shipping. COMODALWEB 2.0 es un proyecto de investigación en colaboración público- privada del Plan Nacional de Investigación Científica, Desarrollo e Innovación Tecnológica, 2008-2011. Pretende crear una red de conocimiento y colaboración entre los miembros de las comunidades logístico-portuarias, para promover mejoras de eficiencia individual y colectiva en el Transporte Marítimo de Corta Distancia. In the revision of the White Paper Transport is suggested expanding the objectives and the instruments of the transport policy to respond to the new challenges, and stresses the need to improve the efficiency of the various modes of transport, both used individually as those used in combination (comodality) highlighting the following political initiatives submitted: • plan of action for the logistics of transporting goods. • Communication about port policies • Initiative of the Commission "Toward a European area of maritime transport without barriers”. • Initiative on MoS.
