Accor, the world’s largest hotel group and market leader in Europe, has won three awards at this
year’s Springboard Awards for Excellence, marking a record year for the group at the awards and
celebrates Accor’s continued commitment to its employees.
The Springboard Awards for Excellence celebrates inspiring people, organisations and initiatives,
and rewards those that work hard to elevate the profile of the Hospitality, Leisure and Tourism
industry as an employer.
Accor scooped a trio of awards; Best Regional Initiative, Young People Award and Diversity in
The Best Regional Initiative category recognises successful schemes that have been developed to
identify and address regional or local issues and needs in careers development. The judges were
impressed by the impact of Accor’s Hospitality Futures project on really changing young
unemployed people’s lives for the better. They were excited to see the positive effects the
programme had on a group of people that normally others would just overlook.
The Young People Award celebrates and awards the most successful initiative specifically
designed to attract young people into the industry, particularly from education and into work. Accor
was commended by the judges for its all-round approach to attracting young people, the significant
investment in training, and the world’s top hospitality school, Académie Accor.
The Diversity in Employment award recognises employers who successfully demonstrate
excellence in the recruitment of people from diverse backgrounds. Accor clearly showed how their
Hospitality Futures Programme makes a difference to the lives of young people facing challenges
and multiple barriers to work.
Philip Addison Vice President Human Resources, Accor UK & Ireland: “These awards recognise
Accor’s commitment to excellence in people management and to young people in particular. We
are very proud of our Hospitality Futures programme which is now in its third year and helps
unemployed young people take their first steps into a career in our industry.”
