  • 2. “Post Internet drawing lessons” medium: drawings, printed books, tumblr page Self-initiated research-project in collaboration with Ekaterina Kholyapina 2015 “Post Internet drawing lessons” is a series of workshops we performed this year in different secondary schools in Amsterdam. They evolved around the subject of Internet. By connecting various groups of teenage scholars from different schools in Amsterdam to the remains of virtual platforms (Facebook, Google map, Whatsapp etc) we created an insight into the “digital teenager”. The juxtaposition of the handwritten wishes and statements on the one hand and the materialized digital world in the form of paper or a collage from existing imagery, on the other hand, is a snap-shot of our rapidly evolving awareness of the world behind the screens.
  • 3. Visual identity for “Rietveld Study Days”, a symposium for Rietveld Teachers event in February 2015. medium: posters, printed and digital invites, video trailer. In collaboration with Ruben Baart.
  • 4. See You Later medium: printed photo-book Design made for photographer Sasha Sedelnikov 2015 This Book is a documentation of a private archive of my friend Sasha Sedelnikov. When editing the book, I put the photos intuitively in a certain order to built a story that incorporates my own and Sasha’s personal metaphors. The story is closely connected to Sasha’s experience. He was born and grew up in an old industrial town Kasly in Russia. His family members never cared about preserving and passing on memories and family stories, so most of them has vanished forever. Sasha’s work is in many ways connected to documentation and observation. The city of Kasly, similar to most of cities in the region of Ural, has been decaying since the fall of Soviet Union and it’s centralized economy. Young people are leaving the place and the city is dying out. “See you later” is a personal and a collective memory of Ural, it’s a story of decay and it’s witnesses.
  • 5. III (METHOD) medium: printed posters, book Design made for a project of photographer Marnix Van Uum. 2014 The idea of the work by Marnix is to give a (slightly ironic) overview of how we perceive objects and therefore not only focussing on the authority we think, as the perceivers of the object, have. An object, as people forget most of the time, is able to affect the viewer by triggering certain emotions.

Sunblock 5000 medium: video Self-initiated project. 2013 Sunblock 5000 is a remake of TV spot from Robocop 2 (1990) Writer Frank Miller is seems to be bemused by the fact that sun-lovers risk skin cancer and dedicate the whole day for the perfect bronzing, and the warnings that close this clip are hilarious... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3jPaxiz8i_4

  • 8. Sport Satellite Issue medium: Video newspaper Made on the occasion of the exhibition “Radical Sport Center” that took place at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in the winter 2013. In collaboration with Anna Zubkova. Sport Satellite takes the form of a wall newspaper one step further. It is inspired by the political use of sports in USSR and how they were represented in media. This project introduces all the research groups of the Radical Sports Centre and question the authority of media. Sport Satellite is a sci-fi wall newspaper that projects our Radical Sport Centre into the future, celebrating the human capacity to generate reality from fiction and utopia. https://vimeo.com/84119906
  • 9. The Garden, the Student and the Bag medium: printed photo-book Self-initiated project. 2015 Amsterdam is home for different groups of people and communities. To make this photographs I visited 3 communities in Amsterdam: spiritual community, student house and a gardening community and than made a selection based on mood to create a new perseption of the city of Amsterdam.
  • 10. Animated plastic bags. medium: video Self-initiated project. 2013 The organising principle of this work is a study of the philosophy that Tim Griffin has described referring to Seth Price’s effects: . . . as a simulation device, the “effect” posits a kind of chronology where there is none — suggesting some precipitant action responsible for the visual and aural phenomena taking place before the eye and ear. The “effect” creates nothing so much as a rhetorical hole in time, but only in order to fill that hole in advance with some false history or phantom memory for the individual viewer . . . The Tim Griffins definition has receded into the material on two levels: a thought that lets itself be conducted as nothing (or no sense) and the process of actually adding effects by itself. http://www.youtube.com/ watch?v=gcDoKCLYdOI
  • 11. Untitled medium: printed photo book. Self-initiated project. 2014 The book containes 115 images photographed during the winter 2014. It is devided in 11 chapters. In each chapter the story repeats with a slight change. The same story is told 11 times.
  • 12. A tour guide through foreign grossery shops in the Baarsjes, Amsterdam. medium: printed book Self-initiated project. 2013 De Baarsjes area is known to be an edgy spot, where mostly non-dutch youngsters hang out around the Mercatorplein square. It is one of the city’s most multicultural hoods with 126 different nationalities, dominated by Surinamese, Turkish and Moroccan families. First part of the booklet includes photograps made during the day and the second part photographs made at night. When making the pictures I spoke a lot with the shop owners and staff. The book includes those conversations as well.
  • 13. A study of the transformation of the 3D object into a 2D object. medium: printed book Self-initiated project. 2013 In this project I constructed paper models that were inspired by Sol Lewitt’s work. The subject was the ‘model’ itself.
