  • 1. www.sledgehammercoalition.com PRESS RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE -- ALL MASS MEDIA Contact: Office of Compliance Office: 888-927-0010David v. Goliath: Media Bullying No Longer Tolerated by DallasBusinessman Dallas, TX. March 5th, 2012 — Media bullying has reached an all-time high or dare I say: “…an all-time low.” The ugly media giant has reared his ugly head yet again. This time to discover a lone Dallas businessman standing with sword in hand at the ready to slay the one-eyed media monster. At the center of it all, prejudice based solely on race, color, hatred of people of color and oh yes ignorance are again the common denominators. Black females have been targeted very negatively in the media in instances like Rutgers girls basketball players called Nappy Headed Hoes by Dom Imas, Whitney Houston called a Crack HO by John Kobylt and Ken Chiampou, known as John and Ken on KFI AM 640 in Bruce Carter We Are Graduating Program Los Angeles, and off-colored comments directed at Congresswoman Maxine Waters: and Overcomers Serving “Congresswoman, you saw what happened to Whitney Houston. Step away from the People, Inc. crack pipe. Step away from the Xanax. Step away from the Lorazepam, because it’sgonna get you in trouble. ” -- Eric Bolling on Fox 4.These public slayings are not only a slap in the face of Blacks in America, but especially to Black men becausethere is little belief that Black men care enough about our Mothers, Daughters, Sisters, Aunts, or Nieces to takeoffense. One Black man has taken exception to the treatment of media bullying targeting the Black Communityand other classes of minorities. He hopes for a landmark decision in his claim against FOX 4 defamation case thatwill end or at least deter media bullying and the destruction of individuals especially targeting minorities and thosewho are not wealthy enough to retain legal representation and stand up for themselves. 300 New Jersey Avenue NW STE. 900 Washington, DC 20001 Phone: 202.379.2955 Fax: 866-547-6371
  • 2. www.sledgehammercoalition.comFOX 4 and Investigative Reporter Becky Oliver ran a story on August 22, 2011, that publicized false criminalcharges and reported blatantly inaccurate and defaming information about Carter despite numerous phone calls andemails from an individual to FOX 4 and Becky Oliver asking them not to run the story as it was unbalanced, inaccurate, untrue and biased... FOX 4’s roughly 9 min story has irreparable destruction in an already fragilecommunity. The story had Republican State Representative Stephanie Carter to weigh-in the next day on changingpolicy that would stop people like Mr. Carter from stealing tax payers’ dollars. Unfortunately in this case no fundswere stolen. In Texas alone 250,000 meals were served in less than 60 days by Carter’s We Are Graduating (WAG)Program, Inc., and Overcomers Serving People (OSP) Fund, Inc.Carter has filed a $777,777,777 defamation case for special damages that will cover the loss of life of two non-profit organizations for which he founded and the thousands of individuals the non-profits have served nationally. It is unbelievable the work that has been accomplished over the last five years through Carter’s WAG Program andOSP Fund – all accomplished with not one grant, but from the hard work and dedication of Mr. Bruce Carter. One thing we are sure of Mr. Bruce Carter has no plans to back down in this battle facing “Goliath the Giants” inFOX 4 and employees of State Agencies. Carter is familiar in stating: “Which person is worse, the one whocreated the problem or the person that knows of the problem but does nothing to fix it?” He acknowledged that thisact of blatant defamation at the hands of FOX 4 and employees of State Agencies has been heart wrenchingconsidering the number of people negatively affected. The organizations provide tutoring, scholarships, mentoring, feeding programs, relief efforts, support to elderly, veterans and communities and so much more. Carter has beencalled an angel in the Star Telegram, a Hero in the Hispanic community, someone that sees good in teenagers andyoung adults as the Lord. Carter said all he does now is pray for the patience of Job [Old Testament] and thefortitude of Dr. Martin Luther King.
