The Old Town of Vilnius (Vilniaus senamiestis), one ofthe largest surviving medieval old towns in CentralEurope. It is a place where some of Europes greatestarchitectural styles gothic, renaissance, baroqueand neoclassical - stand side by side and complementeach other. In 1994 the Vilnius Old Town wasincluded in the UNESCO World Heritage List inrecognition of its universal value and originality.
The St. Anns church (Šv. Onosbažnyčia) is in Lithuaniancapital – Vilnius. It was startedto build in 1495 and finished in1500. The church is more than500 years old. It is the lategothic style.The church wasdestroyed by a fire in 1419.According to a well-knownlegend, Emperor Napoleon,after seeing the church,expressed a wish to carry thechurch home with himto Paris in the palm of his hand.

Trakai Island Castle (Trakųpilis) is one of the mostvisited places in Lithuania.It’s located in Trakai on anisland in Lake Galve. Thiscastle is the only EasternEuropeans castle built onan island. Trakai was oneof the main centres of theGrand Duchy of Lithuaniaand the castle held greatstrategic importance.
Lithuanian ethnocosmology museum (Lietuvosetnokosmologijos muziejus). It is the first andthe only museum of such kind in the world. Geographical midpoint ofEurope (Europos geografiniscentras). This point islocated in Lithuania,specifically 26 kilometres(16 mi) north of it’s capitalcity, Vilnius, near the villageof Purnuškės. This locationis the only one listed in theGuinness Book of WorldRecords as the geographicalcentre of Europe.
The Hill Of Crosses (Kryžių kalnas). On the hill thereare more than 100000 of crosses. They were startedto build in XIX century. The hill of crosses was usedas a place for Lithuanians to pray for peace, for theircountry, and for the loved ones they had lost duringthe Wars of Independence. Lithuanians used it todemonstrate their allegiance to their originalidentity, religion and heritage.
The Curonian Spit (Kuršių Nerija ) is a 98 km long,thin, curved sand-dune spit that separates theCuronian Lagoon from the Baltic Sea coast. Itssouthern portion lies with in Kaliningrad Oblast,Russia and its northern within southwesternLithuania. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Siteshared by the two countries.The largest town onthe spit is Nida in Lithuania.
