Four Years From Now (4YFN) is the place to become inspired, to learn, to get advice, to participate, to show and to share great ideas with some of the world’s most prominent mobile influencers. This year, the event will be held in Barcelona at the world’s largest mobile industry exhibition, the GSMA Mobile World Congress. The event brings together some of the most respected and influential technical minds of our time, who have travelled from far and wide to discuss how tech startups are not only changing the way we do business, but changing the way we live our lives. Harbour.Space University, one of Europe’s only institutions completely dedicated to technology, science and design is thrilled to be involved in this year’s 4YFN program. On Monday 22nd February we’re pleased to present DISRUPTED BY MOBILE. Presenting on the day will be our own CEO Svetlana Velikanova, online entrepreneur, Vimpelcom Eurasia Chief Digital Officer and faculty member Anna Znamenskaya. Nowadays your operator is not just a telco provider, says Anna Znamenskaya. People use their mobile phones for so much more than a phone call. There’s huge demand for new services like messengers, payments, money transfers, videos, music and games. The current way we use our mobile phones is changing the role our telcos play. So why aren’t more of the telcos cooperating with the innovative mobile companies? Studies have shown that the average attention span of a person is around 8 seconds; goldfish, meanwhile, are believed to have 9. Attention has become a commodity for marketers. It’s scarce. The overflow of information to which we are subject every day is overwhelming and causing well-documented phenomena like banner blindness.
