  • 2. WHAT IS A PRESS RELEASE? A press release is typically a document containing information regarding a media product. It is usually sent out to other media corporations as an announcement of sorts which is used as a piece of publicity and PR material.
  • 3. WHAT DOES IT COVER? A good press release should contain information on things such as the typical contents of the media product, an overview of who it is targeted to, where it is based if local influences come into account, what to expect from it and the likes of. In my press release, I plan on containing information on all of this in writing which is economical in style and straight-to-the-point, yet descriptive at the same time.
  • 4. WHEN IS IT USED? A press release is commonly used before the launch of a media product. A good time frame for a press release to be published would be one month before the initial first publication of the media product.
  • 5. WHERE DOES IT GET SENT TO? A press release can be sent to local companies such as radio and television stations in order to gain awareness and publicity. It can be sent to a range of different people depending on how it is intended to be received.
  • 6. WHY? Press releases are informative and are good for companies to get word out of their product. In sending them to other companies, it benefits the initial company and raises awareness.
