  • 2. What is marriage?  Marriage, also called matrimony or wedlock, is a socially or ritually recognized union or legal contract between spouses that establishes rights and obligations between them, between them and their children, and between them and their in-laws.  A marriage which is arranged by formally a boy & a girl’s liking and two families decision, this type of marriage is called arrange marriage.  The definition of marriage varies according to different cultures, but it is principally an institution in which interpersonal relationships, usually sexual, are acknowledged.  In some cultures, marriage is recommended or considered to be compulsory before pursuing any sexual activity. When defined broadly, marriage is considered a cultural universal.

  • 4. What is Arrange marriage?  Arrange marriage is a type of marital union where the bride and groom are selected by their party then by each other. Marriage is planned and agreed by the family or the guardians of couples.  Arranged marriage is common in South Asia, Africa, the Middle East,Latin America,Southeast Asia and parts of East Asia ; elsewhere in developed countries, arranged marriage has continued in some royal families, parts of Japan.  The arranged marriage statistics are promising, there is no wrong or right way to love. I believe that arranged marriages can work and that they can make some people very happy. I also, however, believe that love cannot be manufactured or created using a set of rules or ideals. I like the idea of choice. If you choose to have your marriage arranged, all the more power to you! The point is, you should be able to choose.
  • 5.  Love marriage is the ones where two people fall in love & decide they want to share that love for the rest of their life, ina committed and long marriage.  The term love marriage is used to describe a marriage which is decided upon the couples without consulting their parents or families. These marriages may break caste, community and religion barriers. However, these marriages are considered socially unacceptable.  There is no clear definition of love marriage. It is generally used to describe a marriage which was the sole decision of the couple.  The marriage of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert also made love marriage more acceptable in the minds of the British public in the Victoria era were love marriages were rising.  In Pakistan, love marriage is rare in the society. What is love marriage?
  • 6. Love marriage Advantages :  Strong relationship  Mutual understanding  Combined decision making  Offer more independence and freedom Disadvantages :  Refused by family  Facing financial problems  Matter of religion  Considered as a taboo amongst people  Sometimes discord arises  Childhood marriage
  • 7. Arrange marriage Advantages :  Well understanding : - in husband & wife - in bride & her new family - between bride & bride groom’s families  Parents make wise decision for their child.  Long lasting relation (maximum time)  Offer more protection & security to the woman  Society accept them warmly Disadvantages :  Understanding problem  Takes time to settle  Internal family problem  Dowry problem
  • 8. love marriage in islam  "The Prophet ( SAW ) said it is better for a man to have a steel nail driven through his head then to touch the palm of a strange woman. hadith“  It is true that even hand shaking or hand holding between non - mahrams of opposite gender is not allowed. So if you are holding her hands then yes you are crossing limits and it is haraam. There are also levels of zina - which are haraam.  It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Allaah has decreed for every son of Adam his share of zina, which he will inevitably commit. The zina of the eyes is looking, the zina of the tongue is speaking, one may wish and desire, and the private parts confirm that or deny it.” Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 5889; Muslim, 2657.
  • 9. arrange marriage in islam  When a girl reported that her father had forced her to marry without her consent, the Prophet (peace be upon him) gave her the choice, either to accept the marriage or to choose to invalidate it.  In another hadith, the Prophet made clear that ladies should not be married without being consulted first. Abu Hurairah quoted the Prophet (peace be upon him) as saying: "A matron should not be given in marriage except after consulting her, and a virgin should not be given in marriage except after her permission." (Al-Bukhari)  Arranged marriages are allowed and promoted in Islam as long as they are accepted by both the bride and the groom. One of the conditions for the Nikah (marriage ceremony) to be valid is both the man and woman are asked independently of each other as to whether they agree with the marriage or not. If either of them say ‘no’ then the Nikah cannot continue , however, silence is regarded as consent. (Radd ul Mohtar).

For the success marital satisfaction is required and the lack of marital satisfaction will be the failure of marriage. The failure of marriage is affected by different type of factors. • 20. Conclusion A marriage is built on a very strong foundation consisting of trust, care and honesty. This foundation is built when two people have given up their love and entrusted it in.So I think there is nothing like an ideal marriage. It’s all about the way you perceive your marriage.  Arrange marriages are more successful than love marriages. Therefore, the ratio of failure of arrange marriage is less than the ratio of failure of love marriage. In love marriages our parents plays no role and our marriage becomes shaggy but in arrange marriage note only our parents but other family members celebrate a lot and happy atmosphere spreads all over like festival. But in love marriage there is only sadness and tension all around. Something we will have to love alone with our partner, in love marriages. We can also see the results of love marriages in our surroundings where mostly love marriages are failed because of the lack of the family support for the couples and parents let them go where they want go therefore the couples after passing a specific time start to blame themselves for their poor livings and break their relationships. So, therefore in my opinion arrange marriage is better than love marriage because there are less chances of faiulure.
