Ltd., Chennai 1st Dec 2014 – 15th Jun 2015 Responsibilities: • Antenna architecture study and analyzing product requirement specifications. • Feasibility study of the project. • Validate RF performance and meet the space requirements. • Technical documents preparation for Layout guidelines. Project-1: Title: Complementary phase power divider feed for dipole antenna specific to GSM 900 Base station Applications Tool used: Empire Xccel. Duration: 01 month. Role: design, prototype and validation. Work done: A complementary power divider for 696-960 MHz is designed in 30 mil Rogers 2.55 DK board and fabricated. Power Divider (PD) design intended for feeding dipole antenna to reduce the antenna height, operating in the frequency range of 696~960 MHz is designed. The PD provides 3 dB power division along with complementary phase at its output. The out of phase division of power divider is obtained by utilizing the concept of defected ground structures. A slot line accompanied by T-junction makes up the defected ground region, while coupled microstrip lines form the feed positions. The simulated and the measured results are in good coherence. PD shows 15dB return loss and approximately 3dB insertion loss. Project-2: Title: Design and development of wide band antenna for Base Station Applications. Tool used: Empire Xccel. Duration: 05 months. Role: design, prototype and validation. Work done: A wideband dual-polarized antenna with high isolation and low cross polarization is designed. The overall height of the antenna is 25 mm. We have used a new kind of feeding technique i.e., a defected ground complementary phase microstrip feed in order to decrease the height of the antenna and a metal dipole used to reduce the cost of the antenna. Project-3: Title: 2 port low band array antenna Role: supporting to the Team lead. Work done: Supported senior engineer in designing phase shifter for 696-960 MHz and antenna development.
