The Research to Date…<br />There are a variety of reasons why students enrol at Year 10 and above<br />Students feel better in general at Te Aute than at their previous schools<br />Positive aspects include same cultural background, strong staff support and strong friendship bonds<br />Areas for future support include: Extra support for Te Reo Maori learning and induction around Tikanga Maori.<br />
  • 3. Future Planning<br />Create a more formal “buddy” system<br />Induction programme for students which centres specifically around Te Reo and Tikanga<br />Focus on students and create a mentor system.<br />Use technologies to develop and maintain strong links with home and whanau.<br />
